Closing the dormitories

Following the measures announced yesterday by the President of the Republic, and
in accordance with the directives received today from the Ministry of Higher
Education, we are asking you to leave the ENS dormitories and return to your
families' homes, whenever possible. The dormitories will remain open in reduced
mode for those who have no other accommodation options, especially foreign
students. In order to ensure the security of the site with a reduced staff, we
may have to group all remaining students in the same building.

We kindly ask you to leave your room as soon as possible, if possible as early

as this weekend.

In order to close the dormitories in good conditions, please don’t forget to:
- Empty your garbage and clean your room.
- Close your windows.
- Clean the kitchenettes, empty the refrigerators, lock up dry goods in airtight
containers.
- Unplug electrical appliances.
- Keep your keys.
- Forward your mail and deliveries.
Those who are unable to return home because of distance (international
students), we ask you, for your safety, to report to the DG. Address: dg@ens.fr

If you are permanently accommodating someone in your room, please inform the DG,
indicating the name of the person concerned.

Instructions may be sent to you at a later stage, such as the need to avoid
visits, home deliveries and so on.
In addition, those of you residing in the Annex (44/48 Ulm) must empty your room
completely. If it turns out that we are not able to maintain security at all
sites, in the next few weeks we will have to group all remaining international
students at one site. For security reasons, the most appropriate area for such
an emergency regrouping would be the Annex in Ulm.

If you wish to store things, you can access the storage rooms. For the students
living in the Annex, an additional storage room will be provided on the Ulm
campus.
We would like to remind you that before leaving your room, whether or not you
are leaving any belongings in your room, it is essential that you inform the DG
by e-mail at dg@ens.fr

mailto:dg@ens.fr

 .
All practical information is available on the intranet site:
https://intranet.ens.psl.eu.
The fee corresponding to the closed period will not be charged for those who do
vacate their room.
One last recommendation from Ecocampus, rightly keeping in mind a long-term
vision: turn off the heating, close the window, and turn off the lights before

leaving!
